Anatomy Scan

Yesterday, we had the anatomy scan for our precious little BOYS! Since this was the first ultrasound since our gender reveal, I wanted to confirm there were definitely two little boys in there and well there was no hiding it!

It’s funny, but I feel like we can already start to see some of their personalities come out. Baby B was ready to show off his goods and bouncing around trying to steal the show and little Baby A was tucked and hiding most of the time. He was just content being snuggled.

The boys are laying just opposite of each other. So Baby A is head down and feet up and Baby B is heads up with his feet down! They both are so snuggled up so it was definitely harder to get good pictures of them, but we still got a few!! Since they both have their own placentas it seems like they both like to snuggle right up next to them. Hopefully that means we will have two snuggly little boys!

So to add to the confusion of Baby A and Baby B our new MFM specialist labels the twins, Twin 1 or Twin 2 and they are backwards! So Baby A is Twin 2 and Baby B is Twin 1. So when you look at the pictures you will know which one is which!

These profile pictures get me every time, but how stinking cute is that little face?!

You guys, is this not the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen?! I think we have a little thumb sucker on our hands! This is the second ultrasound picture we’ve gotten of him sucking his thumb!!! And that precious little nose makes me think of Gannon as a little boy!!

The MFM specialist said they are finally starting to get some cheeks!! That makes my heart want to explode because I can’t wait to smooch those precious cheeks!!

Look at that precious little hand and fingers!!

They were kicking around like crazy but look at that those little feet!!!!

I just love this little face!!

This picture is kind of hard to tell, but it just shows you show squished they are! You can see Baby B’s legs in the left and Baby A’s head down by his feet! It’s hard to get a clear picture because they are little bouncing beans!

I think the two boys look alike from their profiles!! I can’t wait to see if that’s true the older they get!! πŸ™‚

Here’s a picture of both of them together! I love how they are opposite of each other with how they are laying! But those sweet faces make my heart so happy!!

Both babies weighed 11 ounces and measured a few days ahead of time. One baby was measuring 2 days ahead and the other 5 days ahead which is great news for twins. With twins they worry that one baby will start to outgrow the other so they want to make sure they are both measuring on track. All their measurements were right on point. And we got to see all their organs and everything looked great. It was so crazy getting to see the 4 chambers of the heart and different parts of the brain. It makes you realize what an incredible miracle each baby is.

For some reason, I’ve been so scared about getting my cervix measured because I was scared it was going to start shortening. Thanks to my Facebook groups I’m on, I’ve heard horror stories. But the MFM specialist said that anything over 3.5 was good and my cervix measured 4.4, so that’s amazing news! I will have to get my cervix checked every time, but I’m honestly glad so it will give me peace of mind. Looks like my dates with wanda aren’t over! πŸ™‚

We will be going into the MFM every 3 weeks until probably September and then we will be going in more often. I’m excited we will get to see the babies so often! I just still can’t believe I have 2 miracles growing in my tummy. It still seems so surreal! But I am so thankful God chose us to be their parents!

These past 19 weeks have probably been some of the best of my life! I have just loved every second of being pregnant. It truly is such a miracle watching your body transition everyday to accommodate two miracles inside. And I have been so fortunate to not be sick or have any crazy side effects. I never realized how incredible a woman’s body was until I’ve been able to watch mine prepare for these boys. God truly is an incredible creator to allow our bodies to do this and I am so grateful I get to experience it!

Here’s my 19 week bump picture!!

It’s crazy to think we are over the halfway mark! These babies will be here before we know it and it’s so exciting to think about how all these years of waiting have lead up to these last few months before we become a family of four.

Last weekend Gannon and I started our registry for our baby shower. And it’s so exciting getting to finally pick out things for the boys and the nursery. It just seems so surreal! I’m glad we started on them early because it’s a little overwhelming at first! Gannon had control of the scanner so I would like for you guys to look on there and pick out what random items he put on there by himself πŸ™‚ But I can’t delete them because he’s just too excited to finally have some boys!

Speaking of the shower, I know several of you have reached out and said you wanted to be included so if that’s something you want to be a part of please let me know and we will get you added to the list! We know we have had an incredible support and prayer system and we don’t want to exclude anyone! πŸ™‚

Thursday we go in to see Dr B for our regular OB appointment and then we don’t go back in the MFM specialist until July 10th. I’m hoping while I still have a decent amount of energy we can finish some of the final things around our house so as we get closer to the due date we can relax as much as possible!

Hope you all have a blessed rest of your week!

Xo,

Momma Brown πŸ™‚

  1. OMG so exciting! I have been MIA from wordpress but have been seeing your posts in my email (not sure why some of the blogs I follow get email updates?) and all your posts make my heart smile πŸ™‚

  2. I love reading your blog and following your story! My husband and I are gearing up for our first round of IVF and your story gives me so much hope. What bible app do you use? Infertility has made my faith so much stronger and I would love a good app to help me read the Bible (I grew up catholic and that’s something we never really did). Prayers for a continued healthy pregnancy!! πŸ™

    1. Aw, thank you so much!! I will be praying for you guys as you embark on your IVF journey!! Let me know if you have any questions! Can’t wait to celebrate your miracle very soon!!
